About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager with daily retail store operations to support sales and profitability. The role involves merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, training and development, human resources support, operational compliance, and delivering outstanding customer service. The position may require working across multiple stores in the assigned district and travel by car, plane, or train. The standard work week does not exceed 40 hours, and the schedule is flexible, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of English for communicating with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive and confidential situations.
Ability to think strategically, plan, and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven approach and critical and creative thinking skills.
Project management, time management, analytical, and strong organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Oversee the quality and performance of retail store staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership to build commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager and provide feedback on annual performance evaluations for store employees.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help stores meet budget expectations.
Help monitor and identify issues related to store loss or inconsistencies so shrink meets or falls below company plans.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Uphold company customer service standards and provide customers with a friendly environment and outstanding service.
Assist with accurate, regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
