About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports daily operations at one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps ensure facilities meet cleanliness standards and deliver operational excellence. Assistant Store Managers build customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, present a structured sales process, and manage customer accounts. The position pays $15.00–$16.50 per hour and involves working across multiple stores in the district.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• A current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform indoor and outdoor responsibilities involving standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting, and lifting.
• Ability to regularly lift or move items up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Meet sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain site cleanliness through ongoing upkeep of the office, storage buildings, grounds, and surrounding areas.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees to support company culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
