About The Position

As an Assistant Store Manager at AutoZone, you’ll support daily store operations, energize team performance, and drive sales in a fast-paced retail environment. With strong leadership, clear communication, and a passion for WOW! customer service, you’ll play a key role in shaping store success and developing future talent.

You will assist the Store Manager with recruiting, supervising, scheduling, training, and developing store personnel. You will help meet sales targets, maintain accurate inventory, optimize cash flow, support budgeting and expense controls, and analyze Profit & Loss statements. You will also oversee efficient store workflows and compliance with company standards when the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is absent. The role includes leading customer service, addressing concerns, supporting company initiatives, maintaining a clean and organized merchandising environment, and promoting workplace safety and risk management.

• Proven leadership experience with strong communication, decision-making, and sales-driving skills.

• Proficiency in managing, analyzing, and reconciling Profit & Loss statements.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs arise.

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, supervising, scheduling, training, and developing store personnel.
• Promote clear and effective communication with employees and customers.
• Help meet sales targets, maintain accurate inventory levels, and optimize cash flow.
• Take responsibility for store operations and ensure efficient workflows and compliance with company standards when the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is absent.
• Ensure customers receive WOW! service, proactively resolve concerns, and turn complaints into positive experiences.
• Lead company initiatives by supporting productivity, employee training and retention, operational efficiency, and effective merchandising.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing shopping environment.
• Enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use, promote workplace safety, and assist with risk management.
• Support budgeting, analyze Profit & Loss statements, and monitor expense controls to maximize profitability.
