About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports daily operations at one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps ensure high cleanliness standards and operational excellence while building customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, presenting a structured sales process, and managing customer accounts. This position works between multiple stores in the district. The location is closed on Sundays.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the site, including the office, storage building interiors and exteriors, and surrounding areas; duties may include sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees to support the company culture.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
