About The Position

TJ Maxx is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help foster an inclusive and supportive environment and empower Associates to deliver positive customer experiences. The role supports store performance and oversees key operations in a fast-paced retail environment. It includes recruiting, training, and developing Associates, communicating and implementing store initiatives, and helping meet sales, expense, and customer service targets.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of retail leadership experience as an Assistant or Store Manager.
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and empower a large team.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, including the ability to influence and provide effective feedback and mentorship.
Proficiency in store operations, customer service, merchandising, people management, health and safety, and loss prevention.
Strong follow-through skills to implement tasks and initiatives successfully.

Responsibilities

Support sales results, manage expenses, and oversee merchandising, backroom, frontline, cash office, customer service, markdowns, scheduling, shipping, and receiving.
Focus on minimizing shrink and damages.
Attract, recruit, train, and develop Associates; serve as a mentor and role model.
Foster a supportive environment and positive experiences for Associates and customers.
Communicate and implement action plans for projects, targets, company initiatives, and store changes.
Provide input on succession planning.
Implement strategies to meet sales, expense, and customer service targets.
Coordinate loss prevention and operational programs and improve store layout and efficiency.
