About The Position

J.Jill is seeking a passionate, customer-focused, results-driven Assistant Store Manager to support the overall success of the store. The role involves building customer relationships, inspiring and developing the team, contributing to profitable business performance, and creating an authentic customer experience in the store and community. The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager and helps maintain daily store operations, inventory, and visual merchandising in line with company guidelines. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and includes physical activities such as standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, and operating store equipment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role.
• Ability to support and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
• Experience analyzing business trends and executing action plans.
• Passion for fashion, styling, and merchandising.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage ambiguity confidently.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform the listed physical requirements, including lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds and joint/team lifting.

• 2 or more years of Women’s Specialty Retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Model genuine customer interactions and develop strong customer relationships.
• Support community engagement initiatives to strengthen the brand’s presence.
• Assist with hiring, training, and developing a high-performing team.
• Coach and support team members, lead by example, and recognize individual and team successes.
• Analyze sales trends, set goals, execute strategies, and communicate with the team to meet or exceed store targets while ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
• Maintain knowledge of J.Jill products and provide personalized styling recommendations.
• Support daily store operations, manage inventory, lead floor sets, and maintain visual merchandising standards.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, address challenges proactively, and support the Store Manager in overall store success.
• Adapt communication to different settings, organizational levels, and audiences.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
