About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. The role helps ensure the facility meets high cleanliness standards and delivers operational excellence. Assistant Store Managers build customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, use a structured sales process, and manage customer accounts. The position works between multiple stores in the district.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of customer-facing work experience.
• A current, valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle for daily bank deposits and travel to other sites as needed, except in New York City and Brooklyn.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Sales experience preferred.
• College education is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions.
• Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies.
• Maintain site cleanliness through ongoing care of the office, storage buildings, grounds, and surrounding areas, including sweeping and mopping.
• Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks.
• Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage.
• Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
