About The Position

J.Jill is seeking a customer-focused, results-driven Assistant Store Manager to support the overall success of the store. The role involves building customer and community relationships, developing and coaching a high-performing team, and helping drive store performance and profitability. The Assistant Store Manager supports daily operations, inventory management, floor sets, and visual merchandising while providing personalized product and styling guidance. The role also supports the Store Manager and takes ownership of assigned responsibilities, addressing challenges with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to support and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build lasting relationships.
• Experience analyzing business trends and executing action plans.
• Passion for fashion, styling, and merchandising.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage ambiguity confidently.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, push or pull, maneuver around the store, hang and fold merchandise, climb ladders, operate POS registers and company mobile devices, and lift and carry up to 30 pounds; ability to team lift.

• 2 or more years of Women’s Specialty Retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as a role model and build strong customer relationships through genuine interactions.
• Support community engagement initiatives to strengthen the brand’s presence.
• Assist with hiring, training, and developing a high-performing team; coach and support associates and recognize individual and team success.
• Analyze sales trends, set goals, execute strategies, and communicate with the team to meet or exceed targets while maintaining a seamless shopping experience.
• Maintain knowledge of J.Jill products and provide personalized styling recommendations.
• Support daily store operations, manage inventory, lead floor sets, and maintain visual merchandising standards.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, address challenges proactively, and support the Store Manager in overall store success.
• Adapt communication to different organizational levels and audiences.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
