About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports AutoZone’s daily store operations, energizes team performance, and helps drive sales in a fast-paced retail environment. The role assists the Store Manager with recruiting, supervising, scheduling, training, and developing employees, while fostering clear communication, team engagement, and a positive customer-focused environment.

The Assistant Store Manager helps meet sales targets, maintain accurate inventory, optimize cash flow, and oversee efficient store workflows. They support store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager, ensure compliance with company standards, lead company initiatives, maintain effective merchandising and an orderly shopping environment, and help manage safety, risk, budgets, expenses, and profitability. The role also ensures customers receive excellent service and addresses concerns proactively.

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with recruiting, supervising, scheduling, training, and developing store personnel.
• Promote clear and effective communication with employees and customers.
• Help achieve sales targets, maintain accurate inventory levels, and optimize cash flow.
• Oversee store operations and efficient workflows, including in the absence of the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and lead company initiatives.
• Ensure customers receive excellent service and resolve concerns proactively.
• Support employee productivity, training, and retention.
• Maintain effective store merchandising and a clean, organized, visually appealing shopping environment.
• Enforce use of personal protective equipment, promote workplace safety, and assist with risk management.
• Support budgeting, analyze Profit & Loss statements, and monitor expense controls to maximize profitability.
• Lift, load, and deliver merchandise safely and accurately as needed.
