About The Position

TJ Maxx is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to foster an inclusive, supportive environment and empower Associates to create positive customer experiences. The role supports store performance, sales results, expense management, and a broad range of store operations. It also involves developing talent, communicating and implementing company priorities, and coordinating strategies to meet sales, expense, and customer service targets.

Requirements

At least 2 years of retail leadership experience as an Assistant Manager or Store Manager.
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and empower a large team.
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to influence, provide effective feedback, and mentor others.
Proficiency in store operations, customer service, merchandising, people management, health and safety, and loss prevention.
Strong follow-through skills to implement tasks and initiatives successfully.

Responsibilities

Support store performance by driving sales results and managing expenses.
Oversee merchandising, backroom, frontline, cash office, customer service, markdowns, scheduling, shipping, and receiving.
Focus on minimizing shrink and damages.
Attract, recruit, train, and develop Associates; mentor and role-model supportive behavior.
Communicate and implement action plans for projects, targets, company initiatives, and store changes.
Provide input on succession planning to meet future staffing needs.
Implement strategies to meet sales, expense, and customer service targets.
Coordinate loss prevention and operational programs and improve store layout and efficiency.
