About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists in directing all in-store activities to achieve sales and profitability targets and support long-term business growth, in accordance with Cole Haan’s philosophy, policies, and procedures. The role supports the implementation of the store’s strategic direction and completion of assigned objectives and projects while maintaining a healthy team culture and store environment. The position drives financial performance, develops and supports the store team, delivers extraordinary customer service, maintains visual merchandising standards, communicates customer and market feedback, and helps ensure operational consistency, including compliance with loss-prevention, health, safety, and company-policy requirements.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have open availability and the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet retail business demands, potentially including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Independent work ethic, time-management skills, and personal accountability.
Knowledge of sales-driving, business acumen, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team in coordinating operational tasks.
Ability to coordinate and manage a team completing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of staffing, coaching, counseling, training, and development.
Demonstrated ability to support a team-oriented environment.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
Strong computer skills, including POS systems and Microsoft Office.
Ability to twist, bend, squat, reach, climb a ladder, and stand for extended periods, including repetitive use of upper extremities.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25–50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

Drive financial growth by achieving sales and key performance indicator goals.
Exceed the store EBITDA budget through responsible management of payroll, supplies, and facilities.
Coach and develop staff to exceed individual and store goals.
Support and maintain a positive store environment by leading and developing a quality store team.
Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and building a talent pipeline.
Address performance issues promptly and partner on them using Company tools.
Deliver extraordinary customer service through the store team.
Execute and maintain visual merchandising standards consistent with company expectations.
Communicate customer, market, and product feedback consistently.
Achieve operational objectives related to loss prevention, health, and safety.
Support the team in ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Lead and coordinate operational tasks, including receiving shipments and maintaining store cleanliness, and participate in those tasks when additional support is needed.
