About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports store operations and works closely with the Store Manager to help ensure the store runs smoothly. The role provides customer service and leadership to employees, helps enforce company policies and procedures, maintains store and foodservice cleanliness and safety, and supports sales, inventory, cash handling, ordering, and deposits. The store operates 24/7, so open availability for any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience, with a proven record of supervising team members in a food service or retail environment.
• At least 3 months of customer service experience.
• Strong commitment to exceptional customer service.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Open availability to meet the needs of a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
• Ability to think quickly and respond to change.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including frequently lifting or moving up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 65 pounds.
• Ability to work safely in conditions involving heat, cold, allergens, noise, and fumes, chemicals, or odors from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
• Must be of legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco and able to work around slot machines (Nevada only).

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service, including greeting and thanking customers.
• Assist with training, mentoring, supervising, and leading employees.
• Interpret and enforce company policies and procedures with the team.
• Recommend purchases to customers and promote store specials.
• Ensure sanitation and proper food handling, preparation, storage, and disposal procedures are followed.
• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store, including the carwash where applicable, building, islands, and pumps; keep supplies stocked and store-outs to a minimum.
• Restock shelves, displays, and coolers and transfer products as needed.
• Clean and stock the fast-food area and its equipment as needed.
• Follow the Safety Manual, promptly report accidents or incidents to the manager, and gather pertinent information about customer and employee incidents or accidents.
• Work weekends and shifts as assigned and remain available for any shift.
• Manage foodservice and beverage programs to maximize sales and minimize loss.
• Enter sales in the register at the time of sale and make safe drops according to company policy.
• Prepare daily deposits on weekends and when covering for the manager.
• Prepare weekly supplier orders for products as needed.
• Respond to emergencies when the Store Manager is unavailable.
• Operate the cash register and other store equipment as needed.
• Prepare cashier checkout and report accurately according to policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
