About The Position

JD Finish Line is hiring retail management team members to oversee daily store operations, lead and develop employees, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. The role includes responsibility for team performance, sales and profitability, merchandise and inventory, store presentation and maintenance, budgets, and community marketing. Managers are expected to follow company policies and health and safety regulations, monitor industry and competitor activity, and identify improvements to store operations. Additional duties and projects may be assigned. The posting covers Assistant Store Manager and Supervisor roles, with separate minimum availability and weekly-hour requirements for each. Management team members must be available on weekends and holidays, and schedules may increase during peak sales periods. The work takes place in a moderately noisy retail setting and involves prolonged standing and other physical tasks. A high school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age are required; two or more years of retail leadership experience are strongly preferred or may be replaced by an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Retail Store Manager or in a similar role, with a track record of achieving sales targets and managing a team.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Commitment to outstanding customer service and memorable shopping experiences.
Ability to analyze sales data, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions.
Willingness and availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Proficiency in retail management software and basic computer applications.
Assistant Store Manager: open availability during the hours necessary to open and close the store; minimum standard work week of five days; average standard work week of 44 hours, with increased hours during peak sales periods.
Supervisor: availability during the hours necessary to open and close the store; minimum availability of five days; minimum standard work week of 30 hours.
Punctuality and regular attendance consistent with company policies.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to speak English clearly to converse with customers and supervise staff effectively; ability to read and write English and perform business-related mathematics.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pulling, climbing ladders or stairs, lifting merchandise, and good vision including color differentiation.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of retail leadership experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience is also accepted.
