About The Position

The Assistant Store Director assists the Store Director with the complete operation of a designated El Super grocery store. The role works with corporate management, department heads, associates, and vendors to drive sales and ensure high levels of customer service. The Assistant Store Director serves as a role model for professionalism, ethical behavior, and effective decision-making, and assists with the proper operation of all store departments. The position also supports the Store Director in focusing on store employees and resolving complex problems, and coordinates employees’ work to achieve satisfactory operating results in compliance with company procedures and policies.

The work environment is a fast-paced grocery store. Essential functions involve lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling, as well as visual and auditory requirements. CPFM (Certified Food Protection Manager) or equivalent certification is required for positions involving food preparation, handling, or service. Starting pay is $22 per hour; actual starting pay depends on qualifications, including experience and relevant skills.
