About The Position

The Contingent Assistant Softball Coach will provide training, discipline, and coaching to student-athletes to foster a highly competitive softball program. This role involves mentoring student-athletes in their academic, physical, and social development, and monitoring their academic progress to ensure timely degree completion and graduation. The assistant coach will also aid the Head Coach with practice organization, recruitment, and team travel. Additionally, this position will contribute to promoting the team and LSUE Athletics within the University and local community, attend departmental meetings and events, and maintain the softball facility. Further responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Athletics and Head Softball Coach.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Coaching and/or playing experience
LA Driver's License

Responsibilities

Providing appropriate training, discipline, and coaching for student-athletes that leads to a highly competitive softball program.
Serving as a mentor to student-athletes helping them develop academically, physically, and socially.
Monitoring student-athletes in their academic performance to ensure timely progress towards degree completion and graduation.
Assist Head Coach with organization of practices, recruitment, and team travel.
Working with the University and local community to help promote and publicize the team and LSUE Athletics.
Attending departmental staff meetings and special events of both the Athletic Department and the University.
Maintaining the softball facility.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Head Softball Coach.
