About The Position

Responsible for all activities pertaining to slots on the casino floor for the assigned shift and area. Assists the Casino Manager-Slots as required. This role involves monitoring staff levels, bank/floor assignments, and daily/weekly schedules, including breaks. The Assistant Slot Shift Manager is directly responsible for training slot employees, providing them with the necessary knowledge and direction. They monitor compliance with company, departmental, and regulatory rules, providing feedback and disciplinary action as needed. The position requires making sound decisions, motivating personnel, and exhibiting effective supervisory skills. Responsibilities include assisting with jackpot and fill transactions, possessing a thorough knowledge of slot machines, and maintaining the security of games, money, and employees. Building long-term relationships with customers, handling disputes to ensure satisfaction, and completing performance reviews and disciplinary notices accurately and on time are key aspects. The role involves monitoring employee performance, providing training and coaching, and ensuring management is available on the floor. Recommendations for departmental efficiency and business growth are expected, along with coordinating daily functions with support departments. Adherence to attendance guidelines and company policies is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Ability to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items.
  • Ability to walk and be on feet for long periods of time.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to keep pace with peak business levels and customer demands.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations with constant public contact and frequent interruptions.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to respond to visual and aural cues in a loud, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to tolerate secondary tobacco smoke.
  • Ability to work any day, any shift.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One-year casino experience, preferably in slot operations.
  • Previous guest contact experience.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Professionalism and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Present a well-groomed appearance.

  • Previous knowledge of casino rules, regulations, and procedures pertinent to slot operations is preferred.
