About The Position
Take 5 Oil Change is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager to support the Shop Manager with daily operations, team development, and customer service in a fast-paced automotive service environment. The role may serve as Manager on Duty, coordinating workflow and helping keep the shop safe, efficient, and operating smoothly. Paid hands-on training is provided to teach the technical skills and service standards needed for the role; automotive experience is valued but not required. The Assistant Shop Manager completes Certified Technician training, performs Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities, and supports shop performance through operational follow-up and additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable. The position includes opening and closing procedures, inventory counts and adjustments, and supporting shop communication and reporting. This is an active, hands-on role. Crew members must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; safely maneuver in and out of a shallow, 3-foot-deep pit to position themselves under vehicles; walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, hold, grasp, pull, and turn for extended periods; and work in hot or cold weather when necessary. Requirements
- At least 6 months of customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment, delivering a consistent and exceptional customer experience.
- At least 6 months of experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
- Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
- Initiative, accountability, and follow-through on responsibilities.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
- Ability to meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot-deep pit.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, hold, grasp, pull, and turn for extended periods.
- Ability to work in hot or cold weather conditions when necessary.

Responsibilities
- Complete Certified Technician training.

- Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
- Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing company procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve shop performance and take on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
- Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
- Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
- Complete opening and closing procedures.
- Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
- Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
