About The Position

The Assistant Salon Manager (also called Assistant Salon Leader) supports the Salon Leader in operating the salon and leads the team when the Salon Leader is absent. The role combines providing salon services with developing leadership and business-management skills. The Assistant Salon Manager helps maintain a positive, productive culture, supports the guest experience, mentors stylists, contributes to salon performance and scheduling, and assists with onboarding new employees. The position is full-time, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Compensation is performance-based and may include service and retail commissions and tips.

Requirements

Current cosmetology license for the state where applying.
Full-time commitment of at least 40 hours per week.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and dexterity to perform salon services precisely.
Basic math skills for inventory and cash handling.
Strong communication skills.
Bring personal equipment daily.

Previous leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Support daily salon operations, including managing the appointment book in Zenoti and helping ensure a positive guest experience.
Lead the salon when the Salon Leader is absent.
Mentor and coach stylists using the IGROW model to support their goals and career development.
Lead by example in delivering the Guest Journey and maintaining a positive, productive salon culture.
Review performance statistics and assist with strategic scheduling and profitable salon operations.
Help welcome and onboard new talent.
Help ensure the salon complies with State Board and OSHA standards.
Help execute local partnerships and digital marketing campaigns.
Perform salon services.
