About The Position

The Assistant Salon Leader is a working stylist and the Salon Leader’s right hand, helping keep the salon running smoothly, develop the team, and provide guests with a positive experience. Compensation is commission from day one under a leadership commission plan, plus tips, with guaranteed pay of $15.15 per hour if commission is lower. The position is full-time at the SmartStyle Hair Salon inside Walmart in Cottonwood, Arizona; evenings and weekends are required.

Requirements

• Hold a current Arizona cosmetology or barber license.
• Have at least 2 years of full-time salon experience.
• Be available to work evenings and weekends.
• Have good close and color vision to assess hair.
• Be able to stand, bend, reach, perform repetitive movements, and occasionally lift 10 to 25 pounds.
• Be comfortable working around hair chemicals and fragrances.

Responsibilities

• Provide haircuts, color, and other salon services as a working stylist.
• Lead the salon when the Salon Leader is absent.
• Open and close the salon, including operating the point-of-sale system.
• Help train and coach stylists.
• Support the Salon Leader with scheduling, inventory, and salon standards.
