About The Position

As an Assistant Safety Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies to maintain compliance with industry standards, regulations and company objectives. Requirements

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and other safety standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify hazards and recommend effective corrective actions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a combination of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years experience in a progressive safety role, preferably in the electrical contracting or construction industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Safety certifications such as OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, or similar are a plus
  • Experience managing safety in a Union Environment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety polices and procedures in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Supporting the investigation of incidents and accidents, preparing reports, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintaining safety records, reports, and documentation as required.
  • Assisting in the development of emergency response plans and leading safety drills.
  • Collaborating with supervisors and team leads to promote continuous improvement in workplace safety.
  • Monitoring use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring availability and compliance.
  • Participating in safety committee meetings and contributing to the development of safety initiatives.
  • Staying current on industry trends, best practices, and changes in safety regulations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
