The Assistant Registrar of Systems and Compliance is responsible for developing and implementing systems to maintain student academic records, including the on-line degree audit reporting system. This role administers the storage, security, accuracy, and preservation of academic credentials in accordance with University policy, accreditation standards, and privacy laws. Key responsibilities include managing term control maintenance, overseeing the publication of class schedules, and managing catalog updates in the institutional SIS. The position also provides direct supervision to the Business Analyst for technology projects within the Office of the Registrar and Academic Affairs, and ensures VA compliance and enrollment reporting for veteran students. This role serves as a VA School Certifying Official (SCO), supports NMHU Center campuses, and coordinates agreements related to VA benefits. Additionally, the Assistant Registrar provides leadership in ensuring compliance with University, state, and federal laws, develops reports for production measures, manages the electronic filing system, and delivers training on scheduling systems. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining professionalism, exceptional customer service, and cross-training with other team members. The role participates in policy development, objective setting, and strategic planning, and represents the organization at various meetings. Budget recommendations and overall Registrar Office functions are also part of the responsibilities, along with assisting with graduation preparations.
