About The Position

CAFCO Group seeks an Assistant Project Officer Level I to support school construction management projects on behalf of the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA). Under direct supervision of a Project Officer, the successful candidate will apply project management principles while learning SCA practices in the delivery of capital construction projects across New York City public schools.

Requirements

Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Services, or a related field
Valid New York State driver's license required
Working knowledge of personal computers and standard software programs
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a team environment under direct supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
US Construction Experience a Must

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of a Project Officer, apply project management related principles while learning SCA practices and procedures
Assist in preparing activity schedules and reviewing consultant proposals, including scope of work, staffing charts, labor cost charts, and cost estimates, checking for inconsistencies and errors
Maintain management information systems to provide data for the planning and control of project development
Assist in the process of investigation and resolution of design and construction issues
Review design documents, change orders, punch lists, payment requisitions, and contracts
Gather information to be used in job status reports
Visit various job sites as required in the performance of assigned duties
Assist in ensuring quality and high standards of contract performance and compliance in both design and construction
Perform other related tasks as assigned
