The Assistant Project Manager works with the Project Manager and Sales team to estimate, secure, and manage machinery moving and rigging jobs from inception through completion. The role identifies client needs and goals, develops plans for successful project delivery, and organizes project reports and documentation. Assignments can vary in length and complexity, from one-day jobs to projects lasting six months, and may involve managing three to eight projects across bidding, planning, close-out, and other phases. The Assistant Project Manager coordinates with clients, contractors, designers, subcontractors, estimators, operations staff, safety professionals, and other cross-functional teams. The role monitors scope, schedules, costs, and progress; maintains contract compliance; manages changes; and communicates project status and issues. The position requires working onsite and traveling to client project sites, sometimes alongside field technicians during machine-tool assembly and erection. Work includes time in a standard office environment using a computer and office equipment, as well as project-site work. Site conditions may include non-climate-controlled areas, inclement weather, high noise levels, and low lighting. The job may involve climbing, crouching or stooping, balancing, traversing uneven terrain, standing or walking on concrete for extended periods, and lifting or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequent automobile travel to project sites is required.
