About The Position

This role supports all business aspects of assigned projects, including financials, customer relationships, design coordination, and trade partner management. The Assistant Project Manager serves as a point of contact for stakeholders, maintaining alignment on expectations, priorities, and progress. They will work collaboratively with design teams, ownership groups, vendors, and engineering partners to ensure seamless project delivery. The position requires initiative, an entrepreneurial mindset for identifying and solving issues, and building strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, trade partners, and community members. Responsibilities include participating in meetings, preparing agendas, minutes, and follow-up lists. The role also involves active participation in safety culture, assisting in oversight of daily field operations, ensuring quality standards, and managing project documentation like RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Additionally, the Assistant Project Manager will help manage trade partners, maintain organized digital project files, mentor team members, and foster a culture of innovation and fun, while representing the company professionally and identifying growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or similar
  • Prior experience as a Senior Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager in the construction, architecture, or engineering industry
  • Understanding of the full project life cycle (estimating through closeout)
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Exceptional organization with an ability to demonstrate a strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, resourceful, and eager to take ownership of your work and career
  • Self-aware, open to feedback, and motivated to continue to grow
  • OSHA 30

Responsibilities

  • Support all business aspects of assigned projects, including financials, customer relationships, design coordination, and trade partner management.

  • Help manage trade partners, including scope definition, documentation, and coordination.
  • Maintain organized digital project files and ensure information is communicated clearly.
  • Mentor and support project team members.
  • Support and challenge project team members to achieve exceptional results.
  • Help foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and fun.
  • Represent FH professionally and help identify future opportunities for growth.
