About The Position

This role is for a detail-oriented and highly organized Assistant Project Manager who thrives in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities. The ideal candidate will enjoy managing multiple tasks, tracking project details, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring project success. This position requires a problem-solver and self-starter who takes initiative, thinks critically, and works independently while knowing when to collaborate. Effective communication with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and clients is essential, as is the ability to build strong working relationships and maintain a professional, positive attitude. This role offers an opportunity to grow a construction management career by learning all aspects of project management, including reviewing plans, managing change orders, schedules, budgets, and project closeout activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 1-3 years of construction industry experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical plans.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and project coordination.
  • Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.

Responsibilities

  • Learn Eleven Western Builders' processes, procedures, software platforms, and project management standards.
  • Assist Project Managers with project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project tracking.
  • Participate in project meetings and collaborate with field and office teams.
  • Review project drawings and specifications to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  • Build positive working relationships with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Support the coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking.
  • Help review and process subcontractor billings, change requests, and project invoices.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential delays or issues.
  • Assist with maintaining project logs and documentation.
  • Take a more active role in managing project activities and technical coordination.
  • Review and process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and related documentation with limited oversight.
  • Support quality control efforts and help ensure compliance with project specifications and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with design professionals, subcontractors, and field personnel to resolve project challenges.
  • Serve as a key support resource to the Project Management team on multiple projects.
  • Independently manage assigned project responsibilities while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
  • Contribute to successful project delivery through proactive communication, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Assist with project closeout activities and final documentation requirements.
