About The Position

Bohler’s West Hartford, CT office is seeking an Assistant Project Manager, Landscape Architecture & Planning, to contribute to project coordination, design development, and client communication across the Greater Hartford Metro area. This role blends technical landscape architecture, planning fundamentals, and project management, giving you increasing ownership in early scoping, design, permitting, and client collaboration. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or Planning
  • 7+ years of experience in private land-development landscape architecture
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D), Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and SketchUp
  • Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and lead portions of project delivery
  • High energy, flexibility, and readiness to operate at a dynamic pace
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Current authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Apply broad planning and landscape architecture principles across conceptual design through construction documents
  • Provide guidance during master planning and site-specific design with a focus on accuracy and clarity
  • Coordinate preparation of drawings, exhibits, and calculations with architects, engineers, designers, and technicians
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients throughout the design and review process
  • Participate in proposal and contract review; support business development activities
  • Prepare and manage project correspondence with clients, agencies, attorneys, and contractors
  • Deliver construction cost estimates and support entitlement applications
  • Lead project coordination tasks, including preparing submittments, tracking comments, and advancing approval packages
  • Mentor staff in developing design, production, and communication skills
  • Attend networking functions and build visibility for the practice
  • Manage project elements, including scoping, scheduling, permitting coordination, and closeout
  • Maintain alignment with all Bohler standards, policies, and QA/QC expectations
