About The Position

Pathway to Possible is a congregate care facility that provides independent and assisted living for adults with developmental disabilities in the Newton and Wellesley areas. The program aims to increase the self-sufficiency and independent living skills of adults referred by the Department of Developmental Services. Pathway to Possible is committed to providing a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment while ensuring resident safety. The Assistant Program Manager will support the Program Managers team in overseeing the daily operations of the houses, building team capacity, ensuring high-quality services, managing staff schedules and supervision, financial oversight, medication distribution, and administrative duties as required by P2P, DDS, and DPH. The role involves training to manage a home when coverage is needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field is preferred
  • A graduate degree and/or 2 years of program management experience is preferred.
  • A commitment to the empowerment of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Familiarity with the DDS delivery system
  • First AID and CPR Certified and Experience with individuals who have complicated medical needs is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to be used across the P2P Community.
  • Have MAP certification.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to provide physical assistance to adults using wheelchairs
  • Must be able to evacuate individuals supported within 2 ½ minutes
  • Must be able to assist individuals in transferring from sitting to standing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license.
  • Clearance of CORI and SORI background checks as required by state and federal law.
  • Clearance of DPPC registry as required by state law
  • A cleared search of finger printing through the DDS criminal background check
  • Current MAP certification and maintain MAP certification for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with providing regular documented supervision and feedback to direct service staff ensuring the safety and well-being of all clients.
  • Assist with scheduling and approving staffing to provide 24/7 coverage at the homes.
  • Assist with holding monthly staff meetings and conducting annual staff evaluations.
  • Assist with ensuring all consumers’ health care and dietary needs are met, and medication administration regulations are consistently applied and complied with.
  • Assist with ensuring all safety programs and policies are communicated to staff and are implemented and practiced consistently, including ensuring all safety plans are accurate and current.
  • In conjunction with the Program Manager ensure client ISP plans are developed and implemented in accordance with P2P and DDS guidelines. Ensure that the proper monthly documentation is complete.
  • Assist with directing Case Managers to oversee the monitoring and scheduling of medical/dental appointments for each resident in the home.
  • Assist with maintaining all program records according to established guidelines and state and federal requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining financial accounts and budgetary guidelines in alignment with state, federal and P2P guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with involved families, guardians, and other providers.
  • Provide up to 10 weeks of on-call coverage per year.
  • Participate in P2P and Department of Developmental Services training programs and attend all Program Manager meetings.
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Pathway to Possible (P2P) employee policies and procedures and the P2P Policies to Promote Human Dignity.
  • Be an active member of a management team, participating in agency-wide events, staff meetings, and training.
  • Work directly with the Program Director on projects as needed.

  • Longevity bonus of $500 earned after 6 months and $500 earned after 12 months.
