About The Position

The Assistant Program Manager at Dominion House plays a crucial role in the operation of a stabilization group home serving adults with psychiatric diagnoses in Schenectady, NY. The primary goal is to collaborate with residents, providing support for stabilization and rehabilitative services to facilitate their transition to greater independence. This leadership position involves mentoring staff in delivering person-centered services and ensuring accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in human services and 1-year experience in human services, OR Associate degree in human services with 3 years’ experience, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
  • Experience specifically working with the mentally ill population.
  • Experience with medication supervision.
  • Residential experience required.
  • Valid and insurable driver's license.
  • Must have a personal vehicle to use for business purposes when not transporting clients.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to be organized and have strong time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Experience or education in crisis intervention and prevention preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the program, resident services, and staff supervision.
  • Oversee resident service delivery to ensure it is person-centered and meets all requirements.
  • Assist staff and oversee the accurate and timely completion of documentation for services through training, mentoring, and supervision.
  • Provide client-centered services.
  • Train, mentor, and support staff in providing services such as supportive counseling for stabilization, crisis prevention and coping skills, verbal crisis intervention, medication supervision, teaching daily living skills, and recreational activities.
  • Be on-call on a rotating basis for staff support.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
  • Provide transportation to clients using agency vehicles.
