About The Position

The Assistant Program Manager at Dominion House plays a crucial role in supporting the operation of a stabilization group home for adults with psychiatric diagnoses in Schenectady, NY. The primary goal is to collaborate with residents, providing rehabilitative services to help them achieve stability and transition to greater independence. This position involves leadership and mentoring of staff, ensuring person-centered services and accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in human services and 1-year experience in human services, associate degree in human services with 3 years’ experience, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
  • Experience specifically working with the mentally ill population, medication supervision, and residential experience required.
  • Valid and insurable driver's license.
  • Must have a personal vehicle to use for business purposes when not transporting clients.
  • Both the ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • The ability to be organized and have strong time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Experience or education in crisis intervention and prevention preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Manager in providing oversight of the daily operation of the program, residents services, and staff supervision.
  • Oversee the resident service delivery to ensure it is person-centered and meets all requirements.
  • Assist staff and oversee the documentation for these services are completed in an accurate and timely manner by providing training, mentoring, and supervision to staff.
  • Provide client centered services.
  • Train, mentor, and provide support to staff as they provide services including supportive counseling to assist in stabilizing; crisis prevention skills and coping skills; verbal crisis intervention; medication supervision; teaching of daily living skills; and recreational activities.
  • On-call on a rotating basis for staff support.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
  • Provide transportation to clients using the agency’s vehicles.
