About The Position

The Department of Psychology at California State University, Fresno is seeking a tenure-track, academic-year Assistant Professor of Psychology. The candidate's primary area of specialization may be in quantitative methods, or it may be in another subdiscipline of psychology, provided that quantitative methods play a substantial role in the candidate’s research program. Quantitative methods is broadly defined, but may include experimental design, statistical modeling, psychometrics, computational modeling, and the quantitative analysis of behavioral or psychological data. Requirements

• An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Psychology or closely related field from an accredited (or equivalent) institution. Applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered; however, for appointment, the doctorate must be completed by August 1, 2027.
• Evidence of successful teaching, either as an instructor-of-record or as a teaching assistant.
• Evidence of research productivity.
• A commitment to student success through inclusive, accessible, and transformative education and to working collaboratively and respectfully with students, faculty, staff in our diverse community.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff and members of the campus community.
• Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.

• Employment is contingent upon US residence and proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

• Teaching foundation and advanced courses in statistics and research design within our undergraduate (B.A.) and graduate (M.A.) programs in General/Experimental Psychology.
• Supervising undergraduate and graduate research students in an active research program in the candidate’s area of expertise.
