About The Position
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) welcomes applications from candidates who desire to be part of a dynamic and supportive team. Due to the expansion of our Behavioral Health Service Line in the Department of Psychiatry/Psychiatric Research Institute (PRI), we seek candidates immediately for several full-time faculty positions. Percent effort for research, teaching, or administration and assignment to tenure or non-tenure track is individualized to meet career development goals. Faculty rank and compensation are commensurate with qualifications and prior experience. Opportunities currently exist for traditional and virtual care delivery in our Outpatient Clinic, Consultation-Liaison, General Adult Inpatient, Women’s Mental Health Program, Trauma, and Addictions programs.
Requirements
- M.D. or equivalent degree required.
- ABPN certified or eligible for certification in Psychiatry, with the expectation of becoming certified as per the UAMS bylaws.
- Eligibility for and subsequent success in obtaining an unrestricted Arkansas medical license, malpractice insurance, and credentialing by central Arkansas teaching hospitals are required.
- Successful candidates will be excellent clinicians as well as outstanding teachers or researchers.
- Able to work well collaboratively, and enjoy being part of a team that is accomplishing more than any individual can accomplish.
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
Responsibilities
- Teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Providing excellent clinical care, including evidence-based psychiatric diagnostic assessment and treatment
- Completing medical records according to professional standards and in a timely manner using the UAMS EMR system
- Additional service to the College, University, and profession is expected as needs are identified.
