About The Position

The Department of Public Health invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, accreditation management, research, student advising, and service activities within MPH and DrPH programs. This position is designed for an individual with strong expertise in public health education, health policy, and doctoral-level instruction, as well as a capability to manage accreditation and academic administration.

Requirements

  • Earned PhD, DrPH, MD, or equivalent terminal degree in public health or a closely related field.
  • Ability to teach at the graduate and doctoral levels.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CEPH accreditation processes and reporting.
  • Experience developing or teaching courses related to artificial intelligence, data analytics, or ethics in public health.
  • Experience with governmental grants, Joint Commission reporting, or related compliance activities.
  • Record of scholarly publications, grant activity, or applied public health leadership.
  • Proficiency with Stata and other statistical software packages.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily teach courses within the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program, including health policy and related public health systems courses, ethics, leadership, doctoral research seminars, and related areas.
  • Teach selected Master of Public Health (MPH) courses in biostatistics and epidemiology.
  • Develop and teach a course focused on AI Applications and Ethics in Public Health.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous program improvement.
  • Manage and support activities related to Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) accreditation, including coordinating documentation, reporting, annual assessment, and self-study materials.
  • Assist with program operations, scheduling, and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain an active program of scholarship, including conducting and disseminating scholarly research and pursuing external funding opportunities.
  • Participate in departmental, school, and university committees.
  • Contribute to professional and community engagement activities.
  • Advise both MPH and DrPH students.
  • Serve as a DrPH dissertation chair and committee member.
  • Mentor doctoral students through applied research and professional development.
  • Support student academic progress and career planning.
