About The Position

The University of Maryland, College Park Department of History, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in 20th century U.S. women/gender history. Applicants must demonstrate a broad knowledge of U.S. women’s history. Research specialization open, but projects complementing departmental strengths will be prioritized. In addition to exceptional scholarly promise, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include teaching a general U.S. women’s history survey (modern era 1880-2000), other lecture courses, and upper-level undergraduate and graduate seminars as they align with the candidate’s interests and departmental requirements, as well as engaging in curriculum development.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in History or a related field in hand by August 1, 2027
  • Teaching experience at the college or university level
