About The Position

The Assistant Professor in Economics will be responsible for teaching 12 credit hours per semester, including lectures and labs. This role involves the development and instruction of undergraduate and graduate Economics courses, with the ability to teach in multiple fields such as Marketing. The position requires creating coursework, syllabi, and maintaining class materials. Additionally, the Assistant Professor will advise and mentor students on degree plans, career development, and extracurricular activities. Administrative duties include submitting grades, completing trainings, assessments, and other departmental requirements. The role also involves adapting courses to current technology, teaching online or televised courses, and staying updated on educational trends. Research and scholarship activities suitable for a teaching university, including undergraduate involvement, are expected. Professional contributions, participation in departmental and University committees, and administrative/supervisory functions are also part of the role. This includes supervising assigned staff through recruitment, training, and performance evaluation. Continuous personal and professional development, maintaining comprehensive communication, and modeling professional standards are essential. Other duties as assigned will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Economics or a related field.
  • Ability to teach in two or more fields such as Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 12 credit hours per semester, including lectures and labs.
  • Develop and instruct undergraduate and graduate Economics courses.
  • Teach in two or more fields such as Marketing.
  • Develop coursework, syllabi, and maintain materials and supplies for assigned classes.
