About The Position

The University of New Orleans/Louisiana State University New Orleans is seeking an Assistant Professor of Economics for a tenure-track position. Requirements

• Ph.D. in Economics completed by August 2026.
• Evidence of both sponsored research and ability to publish in academic journals.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Submit CV, cover letter, and three letters of recommendation by June 30, 2026.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to teach a PhD Seminar in Macroeconomics.
• Ability to teach the Managerial Economics course in the MBA program.
• Demonstrated teaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach six economics classes per 9-month academic year (3-3 load) at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Teach a PhD Seminar in Macroeconomics and the Managerial Economics course in the MBA program.
• Publish research suitable for acceptance in leading economics journals.
• Serve as the Director for the Institute for Economic Development and Real Estate Research and Division of Business and Economic Research.
• Perform appropriate service activities for the university as well as the local and professional communities.
