Erikson Institute, a leading graduate school in child development, is seeking to fill two tenure-track assistant professor positions. These roles will significantly contribute to our doctoral (PhD) program in child and family studies and our master of science programs in early intervention (MSECE-EI) and child development (MSCD). We are looking for candidates with a PhD in child development, human development and family studies, developmental psychology, educational psychology, or a related field. Successful applicants will be prepared to advise doctoral students using multivariate statistics and mixed methods in their dissertations. For those entering at an advanced assistant professor level, prior academic experience may be considered for the tenure review timeline. All faculty applicants must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in their scholarship and teaching, and outline how their work will advance justice for children, families, and the Erikson community. One position requires specific expertise in the birth to three age range, covering areas like infant-toddler development and disabilities, infant and early childhood mental health, infant-caregiver relationships, and early intervention. The second position is open regarding age range and specialization, with areas of interest including adversity and trauma, neurodivergence, social determinants of health, family support, child and family policy, child life, developmental trajectories for children with medical challenges, program evaluation, developmental neuro/science, and children's media and digital health. Both positions will prioritize candidates with substantial experience in quantitative research on child and youth outcomes and the ability to engage graduate students in collaborative research and data collection. Erikson Institute is dedicated to ensuring equitable opportunities for all children to reach their full potential. Our graduate school prepares leaders in child development, education, and social work to improve the lives of young children and their families through academic programs, research, community services, advocacy, and policy.
