About The Position

The Department of Public Service and Administration (PSAA) in The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University is seeking a tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor. The position, starting August 1, 2027, focuses on research expertise in infectious disease policy and/or management. The successful candidate will join a recognized faculty, contributing to the school's mission in public service, governance, management, and policy analysis. This role is part of a collaborative cluster hire supporting the Texas A&M University initiative on Translational Research in Infection and Immunity, a multidisciplinary effort addressing infectious diseases and their impact on health and national security. The Bush School, founded on the philosophy of public service, offers opportunities for collaboration across various programs. Faculty teach in master's and undergraduate programs, benefiting from interdisciplinary connections.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in public policy, public administration, economics, political science, public health, health services research, epidemiology, or a related field relevant to infectious disease policy and/or management by September 1, 2027.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to high quality research and teaching in a professional school of public affairs.

Nice To Haves

  • Research expertise in all fields related to infectious disease policy and/or management.
  • Expertise regarding infectious diseases in public health policy, health economics, public management, emergency management, health systems, regulatory policy, global health governance, biosecurity policy, implementation science, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Bush School's teaching, research, and service mission in public service, governance, management, and policy analysis.
  • Strengthen the Bush School's contributions to the campus-wide, multidisciplinary research initiative on Translational Research in Infection and Immunity.
  • Teach courses in both the master’s degree and new undergraduate major in Public Service and Administration.
