About The Position

Wingate University, a teaching-focused institution serving over 3,600 students across two campuses, is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management for the Porter B. Byrum School of Business. This full-time, 9-month faculty position reports to the Dean of the School of Business and begins in August 2026. Requirements

Ph.D. or DBA in management with 18 graduate credit hours in management from an accredited university, preferably AACSB accredited.
Ability to effectively teach courses in undergraduate and MBA programs.
Demonstrated excellent teaching skills.
Strong communication skills.
Evidence of being a subject matter expert through publishing scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals.
ABD candidates will be considered provided there is evidence that the doctorate degree will be completed within three years of appointment.
Applicants with ABD status will be considered for the rank of Instructor until the degree is completed.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Professional experience is desirable.
Relevant experience in business and/or consulting with a commitment to collaborative endeavors is preferred.

Responsibilities

Teaching undergraduate (in person) and/or graduate (hybrid) courses in principles of management, organizational behavior, and project management related courses face-to-face and hybrid.
Conducting research leading to scholarly publication.
Engaging in service to the School of Business, University, profession, and the community.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Porter B. Byrum School of Business and the Provost.
