About The Position

The Assistant Professor provides educational leadership, ensures a quality learning environment for students, and plans, organizes, implements, and assesses assigned didactic, laboratory, and clinical experiences in alignment with Methodist College’s vision, mission, values, and learning domains. The position contributes to teaching, scholarship, and service activities at the College and in the local professional community.

Requirements

Ph.D. in a related field.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate current knowledge and skills in areas of expertise and mastery of the teaching area.
Participate in course development and evaluation.
Serve as a faculty advisor to students and/or mentor to other faculty.
Articulate a teaching philosophy.
Incorporate current and relevant literature into classroom work.
Use creative teaching strategies to develop students’ critical-thinking and analytic skills.
Maintain teaching and/or clinical expertise through active engagement in the discipline.
Share expertise with colleagues.
Engage in collaborative research or creative activity.
Contribute to two academic committees at the College and serve as a leader on one committee.
Volunteer on a local committee in a professional capacity.
Serve as a leader on a College committee.
Participate in student recruitment.
Participate in quality improvement.
Present at local workshops or programs.
