About The Position

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Selma Family Medicine is seeking applications for Family Medicine physicians for the Selma Family Medicine Residency Program in Selma, Alabama. The Family Medicine Residency at UAB is a prestigious program focused on training the next generation of family medicine physicians. Requirements

Board certified or eligible MD or DO
Alabama and ACSC licensure
Credentialing for hospital privileges

Responsibilities

Teaching residents in various aspects of family medicine, including developing and delivering lectures, leading small group discussions, conducting bedside teaching, and supervising clinical procedures.
Supervising and guiding residents during clinical rotations, including direct observation of clinical encounters, providing feedback, and helping residents develop clinical skills.
Contributing to the development and updating of the residency curriculum, including didactic and clinical components.
Evaluating residents through regular assessments of their clinical skills and academic progress.
Participating in research projects and scholarly activities related to family medicine and medical education.
Staying abreast of the latest trends in family medicine and medical education by attending conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
Performing administrative responsibilities such as interviewing, scheduling, coordinating with other faculty members, and communicating with residents, program directors, and other key personnel.
