About The Position

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is seeking to hire full-time faculty members at the Assistant Professor level in the appointment (non-tenure) stream. The selected candidate will be responsible for patient care, teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and conducting orthopaedic research as directed by the Chair and division chief. Opportunities are available within various orthopedic subspecialty programs including Adult Reconstruction, Foot and Ankle Surgery, General Orthopaedics, Hand and Upper Extremity, Pediatric Orthopaedics, Podiatry, Primary Care Sports Medicine, Spine Surgery, Sports Medicine, Trauma.

Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited orthopedic residency training program
  • Completion of an accredited trauma fellowship program
  • Eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Board-eligible or Board-certification in orthopedic surgery
  • Meet the minimum position credentials for the orthopaedic specialty to provide clinical service
  • Strong interest and ability in clinical care and teaching
  • Strong clinical, interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills
  • A record of scholarly publications and presentations
  • Evidence of interest in and involvement in research
