The Department of Psychology at the University of Akron invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting in August 2027. We seek teacher-scholars who will contribute to the university's excellence through teaching, scholarship, service, and collaboration. As an urban-research university, we are particularly interested in scholars whose work addresses the pressing needs of cities and urban communities, such as health, career outlooks, and employment. We also seek scholars who will lead collaborations among faculty, students, and community partners to address questions of well-being, public safety, and civic engagement. Within the broad focus of I/O Psychology, we seek a scholar focused on teaching and researching content that may include recruitment, selection, performance management, team processes, leadership, culture, well-being, organizational effectiveness, and employee success. The new faculty member will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in I/O, playing an integral role within this active department.
