The Department of Psychology at the University of Akron invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position starting in August 2027. The department seeks scholars who will lead collaborations among faculty, students, and community partners to address questions of well-being, public safety, and civic engagement. The ideal candidate will be a teacher-scholar contributing to the University through teaching, research, service, and collaboration. Within Counseling Psychology, the focus will be on teaching and researching content related to social justice, multiculturalism, ethics, and clinical practica. The position will also involve assisting with the development of a terminal master’s program in Counseling Psychology. The successful candidate must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate psychology courses and mentor graduate students in their research activities.
