About The Position

Felician University is presently seeking an academically qualified educator to serve as Assistant Professor in the Master’s of Counseling Psychology Program. The Assistant Professor teaches an array of Master’s level graduate courses, including but not limited to Techniques in counseling, groups counseling, family counseling, research, practicum, internship, assessment, career counseling, community counseling, ethics, psychopathology, multicultural counseling, and theories of personality. S/he liaises with mental health entities to foster collaborations and new pipelines for training of current students and enrollment, and actively participates in related admissions, recruitment and marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • Earned doctoral degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution
  • Documented teaching experience in a related discipline at an institution of higher education.
  • 3+ years’ clinical experience.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and the ability to effectively support and engage a diverse student population in accordance with the University's mission and values.
  • Ability to build and sustain positive working relationships.
  • Well-developed problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to identify and maintain confidentiality with sensitivity and empathy.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail and timely and accurate follow-through.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with flexibility, willingness to learn, ability to change, and maintain current technology skills
  • Willingness and ability to support and promote the Felician Franciscan Mission and values of the University.
