The University Archivist provides leadership for the University Archive, advancing institutional memory and supporting teaching, research, and student learning. This role integrates archival collections into curriculum and scholarship by partnering with faculty across disciplines and collaborating closely with library colleagues to ensure strategic development and access to collections. The Archivist maintains an active presence in Special Collections, oversees student employees, and ensures archival materials are preserved, processed, and accessible in alignment with university priorities. If hired as librarian-faculty with teaching responsibilities, the University Archivist teaches one 3-credit class per semester (9 credits per academic year) in a subject area of expertise. Scholarship and/or librarianship and ongoing professional development, and university service are required. BYU-Hawaii’s primary focus is undergraduate learning and teaching.
