About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that encourages and supports teamwork and diversity. The incumbent’s clinical role will be as a primary care physician in the Family Medical Clinic at the South Central Regional Campus, Pine Bluff. The faculty member’s clinical time will include private clinic, inpatient rounding, precepting residents and medical students, and clinical administration, including patient follow-up and clinical documentation. Teaching residents/medical students is an important part of faculty members’ roles. The incumbent will be expected to participate in the teaching of residents and students in the clinic, the hospital ward, nursing homes, and the classroom as called upon. The faculty member will be expected to participate in departmental activities, such as conferences, meetings, and educational activities and also contribute to quality improvement projects with other members of the faculty. Time and effort allocations will be determined annually or as assignments change.

Requirements

  • MD/DO Degree
  • Arkansas Medical License
  • DEA Certificate
  • Board Certification
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary care physician in the Family Medical Clinic at the South Central Regional Campus, Pine Bluff.
  • Engage in private clinic practice.
  • Participate in inpatient rounding.
  • Precept residents and medical students.
  • Perform clinical administration, including patient follow-up and clinical documentation.
  • Participate in the teaching of residents and students in the clinic, hospital ward, nursing homes, and classroom.
