About The Position

Emory University's Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Sociology of Health, commencing Fall 2027. Requirements

  • PhD at the time of appointment.
  • A strong research trajectory that contributes to the strengths of the department, the university, and Atlanta.
  • Ability to adopt a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches.
  • Work that pertains to a range of substantive foci.
  • Work that links to other substantive areas in the department (culture, social inequality, and social psychology).
  • Preparedness to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • A complete application including a letter of application, curriculum vitae, research statement, teaching statement, no more than two writing samples, and three letters of recommendation.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, especially in the area of Sociology of Health.
