About The Position

The Department of Psychology at Butler University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position specializing in Developmental Psychology or Child Clinical Psychology. The role begins in August 2027. The department seeks a colleague committed to inclusive undergraduate teaching and collaborative research with undergraduate students. Successful applicants will be broadly trained in psychology and prepared to teach in a multidisciplinary university core curriculum. The standard teaching load is nine credit hours per semester, in addition to maintaining an active research program involving undergraduate collaborators. The position requires full-time, in-person instruction. A Ph.D. in Developmental or Child Clinical Psychology (or a closely related field) is required at the time of appointment. Applicants with research specializations engaging critical perspectives and/or focused on areas related to diversity are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
