About The Position

The Department of Psychology at Amherst College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor from candidates with a Ph.D. in social psychology, beginning July 1, 2027. This appointment is ideal for candidates with a strong commitment to teaching and an active research program. The successful candidate will be able to develop and teach courses that include introductory psychology, statistics, social psychology, and an advanced seminar; will supervise honors projects; and will contribute to the overall academic environment of the psychology department and the college. The teaching load is two courses per semester. Amherst College is one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in social psychology

  • Active research program
  • Ph.D. in hand or have fulfilled all requirements for the degree by the start of the appointment
