About The Position

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a physiatrist for a full-time faculty position with training and interest in Inpatient Rehabilitation at a free-standing, community-based rehabilitation hospital. Applicants are hired at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor (tenure or non-tenure track) based on experience. All faculty are required to take an active role in our integrated residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; contributing to the academic and professional development of the medical community.

Requirements

  • MD or DO.
  • Board Certified/ Board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Experience with medical management of rehabilitation needs for patients during inpatient rehabilitation including medically complex, neurologic or orthopedic diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Special interest in medical management of rehabilitation needs for patients during inpatient rehabilitation including medically complex, neurologic and orthopedic diagnoses
  • Collaborate with referring services and other departments as appropriate to ensure transitions across the continuum of care.
  • Establish a community-based consultation service at other locations as appropriate.
  • Provide care in ambulatory clinics for general and/or neurologic physiatry patients.
  • Lecture to PM&R residents and students.
  • Attend Grand Rounds as scheduled.
